George was a man of many passions, but above all, he was a man of heart. A proud graduate of Capital University, he balanced his studies in seminary school with his love for sports, excelling on the basketball court and track team. His dedication to service led him to the U.S. Army, where he served his country with honor.
Throughout his life, George was a faithful follower of Jesus and a Lutheran pastor for over 37 years.
An avid sports fan, George never missed a chance to cheer on his beloved Cincinnati Reds and Bengals, riding the highs and lows with unwavering loyalty. When he wasn’t following the games, he could often be found on the golf course, enjoying the challenge of the game and the camaraderie it brought.
George had an adventurous spirit, and together with his loving wife, Janis, he explored the world, making cherished memories across the globe. Closer to home, he found just as much joy in the simple pleasures—Western movies, laughter around a campfire, and RV trips with family, where stories and s’mores were shared in equal measure.
George’s warmth, humor, and boundless love for his family and friends will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the stories he leaves behind.
