Position: Office Administrator (including Financial Secretary and Building Manager)
Desired Start Date: April 1, 2024
Probationary Period: 6 months
Reports to: Pastor and Church Council
Terms:    16 hours per week
Salary:  $18.75 per hour
Benefits: no health insurance
7 paid holidays (New Year’s Day, MLK Birthday, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day,
Thanksgiving, Christmas)
Hours: Monday-Friday (schedule to be negotiated, with flexibility for funerals, etc.)

Scope of the Work
Office Administrator
o       be the point of contact for NRLC via phone, e-mail, social media, and in person
o       manage office (including filing, record keeping, and church calendar)
o       generate written and electronic communications
o       prepare and maintain regular documents (weekly bulletin, readings, and weekly update email; monthly council and committee documents, reports, etc.)
o       order supplies as needed
o       schedule office equipment maintenance as needed

Financial Secretary
o       enter weekly financial income into financial software (ICON, Quick Books)
o       work with treasurer to generate monthly financial secretary’s report

Building Manager
o       manage building events
       schedule vendors for repairs and maintenance
       be liaison between church and outside groups

Other reasonable duties as fairly negotiated

Skills Required
•       recent experience as an administrator and financial secretary (preference given to church office experience)
•       friendly personality and trustworthiness
•       team player with ability to manage a variety of personalities at one time
•       strong commitment to confidentiality
•       strong organization and attention to details
•       solid written and spoken communication skills
•       commitment to address conflict as it arises (with support)
•       knowledge of office management systems and procedures (especially Microsoft Word, Google Docs, and financial recordkeeping software)
•       knowledge of computers and printers/copiers
•       familiarity with social media

Misc.
•       This position requires a background check.
•       Most of the work is done within an office environment requiring minimal physical activity.
•       Lifting of objects less than 40 lbs may be necessary on occasion (typically boxes of printer paper) and is negotiable within reason.
