Good Afternoon SOS…

I have some exciting news to share with you!

Join me in welcoming Deacon Daniel Jacob as the Southern Ohio Synod Storyteller and Media Ambassador beginning September 1.

Deacon Jacob first felt the call to ministry while exploring Black Liberation Theology as an undergraduate at Wittenberg University. That call carried him to Yale Divinity School where he completed his Masters of Divinity. Dan returned to Ohio in 2013 to take a call at Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Oakwood. He has since returned to Wittenberg as a member of the Weaver Chapel staff serving alongside the university pastors and campus ministries student leaders. He served recently at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beavercreek as Youth Leader and Christ Lutheran Church in Old North Dayton. He enjoys sharing in the joys of art and ministry with the kids of the neighborhood. Dan’s greatest passions are serving kids and advocating for justice in fulfilling God’s promised kingdom. He has channeled these passions and his own gifts as a writer and maker into founding bannerblue.org, a hub for innovative resources for ministry.

Deacon Jacob lives in Springfield with his wife Ellen, a High School Biology teacher and fellow Wittenberg alumni.

Welcome Deacon Jacob!

Peace,

Bishop Suzanne Darcy Dillahunt
