Faith Formation

Ephesians 4:11-13 (NRSV)

The gifts he gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ.

Colossians 1:28-29 (NRSV)

It is he whom we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone in all wisdom, so that we may present everyone mature in Christ. For this I toil and struggle with all the energy that he powerfully inspires within me.

This section of our website focuses on perhaps the most important work of the formation. Faith formation begins at birth with parents, family and congregational members and continues throughout a person's life until he/she is made complete in Christ.

The Southern Ohio Synod offers resources, support and guidance for congregations in all phases of faith formation. We are privileged to be on this journey to completion with you.
