Global Leadership Summit and Taste of the Summit offered for lay leaders in the SOS
It is most often through the local church that the hope of Jesus is brought into people’s lives. In that light, we can say that the local church is the hope of the world. For this to happen effectively the local church must be led well. As the SOS and the ELCA have called for prayer in support of church leadership, we understand that when a leader gets better everyone wins. You and your team can join 400,000 leaders from 128 countries and 60 languages at the Global Leadership Summit (GLS) on August 10-11, 2017 to get better at your leadership. While this summit is not about church leadership, it does address principles and techniques that lay leaders can and should apply to their leadership within a congregation.
St. Luke Lutheran Church and New Life Church in Gahanna, Ohio have partnered together to be a premier host site for the GLS. Having hosted the GLS for three years, we have outgrown the facility at St. Luke and are moving to the larger New Life Church, 3690 N. Stygler Rd., Gahanna, Ohio. You can register for the GLS at www.willowcreek.com/events/leadership/. If you have any questions, please call Pastor Steve Brown, 614.286.5106.
If you would like to get a taste of the GLS to help decide whether to attend, there will be a free Taste of the Summit on Friday, May 19 at 7:30 a.m. at New Life Church. You will learn about building a leadership culture from Mark Miller, the Vice President of Leadership Development at Chick-fil-A. A free continental breakfast will be offered along a special registration rate for the GLS. It will done in an hour. Just show up!
Look for more leadership opportunities through the synod, ELCA, congregations and partners in future e-bulletins.
